There are many great developments in Jomtien including the brand new and exciting Riviera project and it is hardly surprising that so many people want to buy a condo in Jomtien.

Jomtien is only a few kilometers from downtown Pattaya but has a completely different feel to it, things are a little more relaxed in Jomtien and many people including expats have decided to make it their home.

Jomtien Beaches

There are two main beaches in Jomtien that offer all manner of watersports and activities to the visitor. Jomtien Beach is a three kilometer long stretch of sand, that looks out onto Koh Larn and the Gulf of Thailand. Swimming is excellent from the beach as the sand gently slopes as you walk into the water.

Dongtan Beach is a little more secluded, and there are many palm trees to offer shade. Beach vendors will rent chairs and umbrellas and will be happy to bring you food from the many cafes and small restaurants that line the picturesque access road behind the beach.

Restaurants

Because of the large expat community, Jomtien offers a wide selection of cuisines and restaurants. Some of the best restaurants in Pattaya are located in Jomtien including: Indian by Nature, Gian’s, Bruno’s, Natans, News Steaks & Grill, Marco’s, Akvavit, Yupin’s, Cafe des Amis, Laong’s Bistro and Maggs.

There are also great Thai restaurants that either line Jomtien Beach Road, or are dotted about in the small sois around beach road including: May’s Urban Thai Dine, Surf Kitchen, Sandbar By The Sea, and many many others.

Sports Pubs

There are some great sports pubs that show just about any world sport live, these are fully air conditioned establishments that also serve fine food. Pick of the bunch are: Frasers, Hemmingways, The Pig and Whistle and The Cove.

Again these places are mostly frequented by expat residents that are locals. The atmosphere again is far more laid back than the bars in Pattaya center, and are no way go go bars.

Massages

Some of the best massage salons, with experienced and fully trained masseurs in Pattaya are in Jomtien. Even relaxing on the beach you can have a superb massage without even having to get off your sunlounger.

Many residents of Pattaya go down to Jomtien to have a first class massage and most of the better salons are along Jomtien Beach Road.

Shopping

There are some great markets in Jomtien if you like fresh fruit and vegetables, and they also offer a range of freshly cooked Thai dishes that you can take home for lunch or dinner.

Jomtien also has a number of leather shops and takeaway food outlets such as Subway and Tinnies, who make freshly baked pies and pasties.

Buying a condo in Jomtien will give you access to all these amenities, and you only need to venture into Pattaya for the cinema or department store shopping. Jomtien even has its own bowling alley if you would like some indoor sporting fun.
